One of the earliest references to architecture is in the Upanishads. The architect or carpenter as the Sanskrit word Prajapati is also present in the Hindu Puranas. The first mention of a grid plan as a fundament for the composition of a building is found in Brihatsamhita of the Padma Purana. The most extensive treatise on space is Vishwakarmavastu by Lopamudra of the 12th Century CE in Sanskrit. Modern building science and the science of architecture have been significantly influenced by the Vedic texts.
Shishupala was a minister of Hiranyaksha, the king of the demons. However, because of his powers, he was called a Rakshasa. Due to his activities as a king, he was able to construct the Vastu Purusha Mandala of the palace of the demons. He is also called as Vasta Purusha (the vastu purusha or great architect). Shishupala is mentioned in the Vamana Purana and in Vishnu Purana as a demon who sang Vishnu's praises.

But the same book at different links may be different, for e.g. http://archive.org/details/VastuShastraAlso there is no translation at some websites and may be because of same reason. Some of them are just extracts from the book, so not providing the translation.
